Company HQ
Made up of a Command and Administrative Group led by the CO (Commanding Officer). He was followed by the XO (Executive Officer), then the 1SG (1st Sergeant) and finally the Communications Sergeant.

Rifle Platoon
Made up of three rifle squads (furthermore made up of a Squad Leader, Assistant Squad Leader, Automatic Rifleman, Assistant Automatic Rifleman, six basic Rifleman and two Scouts). The Rifle Platoon was led by a Platoon Leader (Lieutenant) with a Platoon Sergeant (PSG) being second-in-command. A Staff Sergeant acted as the Platoon Guide in the rear, overseeing ammunition resupply to the platoon.

Rifle Companies principally carried the M1 Garand rifle, regardless of Theater of Operation. One member of the squad was designated a sniper element and furnished with the Springfield M1903 rifle (later the M1C Sniper Rifle).

The BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) was the weapon of choice for light machine gun sections. Browning M1911A4 .30 caliber machine guns supplemented support fire.

Heavy Weapons sections were issued water-cooled Browning .30 caliber M1917A1 machine guns, 1 x .50 Browning M2 HB caliber heavy machine gun, and 3 x M2 60mm mortars.

Miscellaneous weapons available (depending on mission specifics) were M1 Thompson Submachine Guns and Flame Throwers. M3 Grease guns later would replace the M1 Thompson's and the M3 Bazooka would be added to the inventory as well.

Colt M1911A1 .45 caliber pistols were issued to officers, though dropped later in favor of the M1 Carbine .30 caliber rifle.

Squad Leaders in the Pacific Theater of War almost exclusively carried the M1 Thompson in favor of the M1 Garand rifle.

Weapons Platoon
Made up of a Command Group, a 60mm Mortar Section and a Light Machine Gun section. The Platoon Leader (Lieutenant) led the group. A Platoon Sergeant (PSG) acted as second-in-command.
